How To Overcome Fear And Do What You Actually Want To Do
When fear shows up at the edge of something new, it’s doesn't have to be a stop sign - it can be a signal of growth. Here’s how I've learned to move forward anyway.
I’ve been in a season of building lately. A new business, a new way of working, a new rhythm to my days. And while there’s deep purpose and alignment in what I’m creating, I feel the fear of the unknown now more than ever. Plus lots of other fears that have come along for the ride!
Here’s a few that have popped up: the fear of being visible, of getting it wrong, of putting something out there and hearing silence. The fear of wanting something and not getting it. And underneath it all, the old, familiar fear that maybe I’m not enough.
This week’s episode of The 10-Minute Shift is about exactly that.
It’s called:
🎧 How to Overcome Fear and Do What You Actually Want to Do
In this episode, I share the two core fears I see come up over and over again (both in myself and in my clients), and how I’ve been learning to move through them - not by pushing them down or pretending they don’t exist, but by allowing them to come with me without letting them lead.
I also talk about how I use principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in my own life and coaching to stay anchored to my values when fear threatens to take the wheel. And I offer a simple mantra that’s been surprisingly powerful for me - a small phrase I now repeat to myself whenever I’m facing something new.
If you're navigating a season of change or stretching into something unfamiliar - whether it’s in your work, your relationships, or your own identity - I hope this episode helps you feel a little less alone, and a little more grounded in your power to choose what comes next.
As always, thank you for being part of this space. I never take your presence for granted. If this episode resonates, I’d love to hear what it stirs in you - just hit reply to join the discussion.
Warmly,
Amy
